Role Purpose:
To provide exceptional customer service by managing client relationships, processing sales orders, and offering expert product advice. The Internal Sales Representative will play a critical role in supporting external sales, maintaining showroom standards, and driving revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage walk-in clients, understand their needs, and provide appropriate product recommendations
- Process customer quotations, sales orders, and invoices accurately and efficiently
- Maintain knowledge of the full product range and pricing structures
- Assist customers with tile selections, layout advice, and product specifications
- Provide prompt feedback to customer queries and follow up on outstanding quotations
- Liaise with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate delivery timelines
- Collaborate with the external sales team to manage trade customer accounts
- Ensure the showroom is always clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing
- Handle point-of-sale transactions and maintain cash-up procedures
- Build strong relationships with both retail and trade customers to encourage repeat business
Requirements:
- Matric certificate (Grade 12) – essential
- 3+ years of experience in internal sales, preferably in the tile, flooring, sanitaryware, or building materials industry
- Proven ability to work in a showroom or retail sales environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP/POS systems
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
