Role Overview The IT Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, overseeing internal IT operations, implementing cybersecurity measures, and ensuring seamless delivery of IT services to clients. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, business-oriented, and capable of leading a team of IT professionals while driving innovation and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities IT Infrastructure & Systems Management Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networking equipment, and IT hardware/software. Ensure the uptime, performance, and security of company IT systems and infrastructure. Manage backups, disaster recovery solutions, and business continuity plans. IT Security & Compliance Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity policies and protocols (firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls). Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with POPIA and other industry regulations. Oversee data protection, encryption, and secure data storage solutions. IT Strategy & Planning Align IT infrastructure with the business goals and growth plans of TSTEC. Identify emerging technologies that could enhance business operations or client solutions. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the IT industry that could impact our client’s IT infrastructure. Develop and manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships. Service Delivery & Support Manage IT support functions for internal staff and client-facing systems. Be responsible for the technical onboarding and training of new technicians. Implement ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management. Monitor and maintain SLAs for internal and external service delivery. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and evaluate IT staff performance, providing training and growth opportunities. Continuously upskill and remain knowledgeable on the latest trends, tools, and services within our product stack to ensure we offer cutting-edge solutions. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the IT department. Projects & Implementation Manage IT projects from inception to completion (e.g., cloud migrations, network upgrades). Coordinate with business units and clients to ensure seamless delivery of technical solutions. Prepare and deliver a weekly technical report and updates to senior management. Qualifications & Experience Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the MSP (Managed Service Provider) or technology services sector. Strong knowledge of: Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and switching). Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365/Exchange administration. Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) Backup and disaster recovery solutions. Cybersecurity practices and tools (e.g., EDR, SIEM). IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent) are advantageous. Key Competencies Strong leadership and people management skills are a must. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities. Strategic thinking with the ability to balance technical and business needs. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
