- Agricultural research and technology development in a team context or individually under guidance.
- Good planning and management of research activities, including aspects such as effective use of facilities and resources, problem solving and liaison with experts.
- Effective handling of personnel regarding utilization, training and evaluation as well as maintaining good working relations within the team.
- Proper management of budgets in compliance with financial policies/procedures to ensure that projects are managed in a cost-effective and proactive manner.
- Ensuring the successful completion of research projects in compliance with set standards.
- Compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and procedures.
- Marketing and promoting Agrometeorology services/products to relevant role-players.
- Involvement in campus activities such as research committees, section meetings and seminars.
- MSc in Agrometeorology.
- Proven research background in climate variability and change impacts on agriculture.
- 1-2 years of research experience in the relevant field and experience of working in a research team.
- One scientific peer-reviewed publication will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work with communities and conduct fieldwork.
- Willingness to travel away from home for intermediate periods.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Valid driver’s license (code 08/EB).
