The Wits School of Education is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate at Lecturer / Senior Lecturer level in the Division of Languages, Literacies and Literatures to contribute to teacher education, postgraduate programmes and research activities. Areas of expertise must be in general aspects of English, English Education generally and/or digital literacies.
Qualifications and experience:
The successful applicant must meet the following criteria to be appointed:
PhD in an appropriate field
A minimum of three years experience of teaching English at school and/or in higher education for Lecturer or Senior Lecturer levels
Ability to contribute to curriculum innovation and design and implementation of new courses
Ability to contribute to methodology and literature courses would be an advantage
Ability to supervise postgraduate research
Evidence of research ability and/or potential (a publication record would be an advantage for Lecturer and is required for Senior Lecturer level)
Ability to contribute to transformation in the School and University
Contract
A successful candidate will be on a permanent contract in a full-time capacity.
