Job Description
We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant Graduate to support the Maintenance department for a 12 months graduate contract. This position forms part of our Store Development team at Pepkor Speciality. This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain workplace experience in a dynamic retail support environment while contributing to critical support processes for our store maintenance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log and track maintenance requests from stores.
- Basic knowledge of store maintenance activities.
- Capture and prioritise service calls on the maintenance database.
- Assist in generating purchase orders and processing invoices.
- Communicate efficiently with internal departments and external service providers.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure information on systems is kept up to date.
- Provide general administrative support to the Store Development Department.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for call handling and documentation.
Qualifications
A Diploma in Office Administration, or any related field, is essential.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Must not be a beneficiary of any SETA funded programme
- 0 - 1 years experience in a call centre environment is advantageous
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail, especially when working with figures
- Basic understanding of Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Drive)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Numerical accuracy and confidence in handling data in spreadsheets, maintenance logs and basic administrative records
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Interest in administrative and maintenance processes
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
