The Team

We are seeking a Manager, Health & Safety Planning, to support the development and continuous improvement of the company’s global Health & Safety (H&S) framework. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Health & Safety, this role is responsible for developing ATC H&S policies, procedures, and long-term strategies that align with both global objectives and regional operational realities. The Manager, Health and Safety Planning plays a critical role in assessing health and safety risks, designing regional and local crisis response plans, and supporting the integration of wellness, occupational health, and safety considerations into the broader H&S vision. They will work closely with regional and local program administration teams to ensure consistency, cross-functional alignment, and operational feasibility. This role is highly collaborative and requires strong analytical, strategic, and communication capabilities to translate global standards into regionally tailored, actionable guidance.

  • Lead the creation and periodic revision of local and regional health, safety, and crisis management policies, standards, and procedures in support of global frameworks.
  • Coordinate closely with local H&S program administration leads to ensure policy design is informed by real-world operational considerations, regulatory obligations, and best practices to ensure consistent application of global standards while respecting local nuances.
  • Assess and categorize H&S risks and recommend policy-level mitigations in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.Develop standard operating procedures and operational safety standards for high-risk tasks and provide guidance for adapting those to local requirements.
  • Implement and coordinate Plan-Do-Check-Act-compliant sustainability and safety programs and trainings for vendors and employees.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments on health and wellness program development, including ergonomic assessments, mental health and stress reduction initiatives, and occupational hazard screenings.
  • Establish local and regional objectives that complement global safety goals and reflect the company’s proactive, people-centered safety culture.
  • Support the integration of wellness and occupational health programs into the broader safety strategy, including programs for high-risk areas and remote workers.
  • Develop regional and local emergency response plans and update them based on monitoring feedback, lessons learned, or changes to risk exposure.
  • Monitor and analyze feedback from incident investigations, audits, and performance tracking to refine and improve H&S documentation and strategies.
  • Identify and share emerging best practices and continuous improvement opportunities across countries and regions.
  • Contribute to safety culture assessments and recommend policy or training strategies to improve safety engagement and awareness.
  • Provide inputs for budget planning by estimating resource needs (headcount, systems, training, etc.) required to support safety initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain a global H&S planning calendar, including policy review cycles, audit schedules, and strategic planning milestones.
  • Work with the Business Enablement team to support the integration of digital tools and platforms for planning, tracking, and reporting H&S performance across regions.
  • Ensure planning processes are inclusive of cultural, legal, and operational differences across all markets.
  • Align H&S planning with broader environmental, social, and governance, and sustainability goals, contributing to corporate reporting and stakeholder disclosures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational H&S, Environmental Health, Public Health, Risk Management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Written and verbal proficiency with English required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of H&S strategy, program development, or risk planning experience, preferably in a global or multi-regional environment.
  • Ability to translate a global H&S policy into regionally tailored strategies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of global occupational H&S regulations and international standards. Certifications in H&S (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health Act, ISO 45001, OSHA 29 CFR ) strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, developing standard operating procedures, and drafting emergency response plans for diverse operational environments.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally, particularly with program administrators, Human Resources, operations, and legal/regulatory teams.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, including the ability to write policies, procedures, and guidance documents for diverse audiences.
  • Analytical and systems-thinking orientation with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks independently while coordinating across a matrixed organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with H&S management platforms.
  • Approximately 20–25% travel may be required to support regional coordination and program alignment.
