Lease Accounting
• Work with lease originators to complete interface inputs to facilitate lease contract creation in Oracle
• Perform IFRS 16 Lease Accounting transition activities and dual reporting, as required
• Perform periodic reconciliations between source systems and Oracle and take action to address variances
• Ensure the upload of the new and modification contracts into the IFRS 16 System on a timely basis and accurately
• Ensure integrity, accuracy and completeness of the lease information in the IFRS 16 system
• Ensure completeness of IFRS 16 lease compared to the live site reports and payment files
• Regularly monitor interface activities from lease source systems to Oracle
• Analyse monthly transfers and their impact on depreciation for lease asset classes

Leased Asset Reporting
• Prepare and disseminate monthly Lease dashboard and reporting
• Analyse month end depreciation expense and variances for lease asset classes
Budget Management
• Forecast, plan, and review budget in relation to leased assets
• Manage and optimise the budget, ensuring all expenditure is in line with the agreed budgets
• Monitor costs and determine initiatives to optimize resources.
Quality Management
• Formulate effective methods and standards to manage Leased Assets
• Ensure that the departmental projects, are delivered within the agreed timelines and in accordance with agreed quality standards
• Consider and recommend enhancements for project performance and processes and initiate remedial action where defects are evident
Document Management
• Formulate and implement a plan to maintain an up-to-date retention of records process for Leased Assets
• Ensure that all relevant documents are retained in accordance with legislative requirements
People and Culture
• Manage, train, up-skill, motivate, retain, and recruit staff
• Measure department performance with appropriate metrics
• Provide for ongoing training and upskilling of the Lease Accountant
• Compile monthly departmental performance reports

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
• CA(SA) is an added advantage
Experience:
• At least 5 years’ working experience in a medium to large organisation preferably in the telecommunication industry and preferably working with leased assets
• 3 years’ experience with IFRS
• At least 3 years’ experience managing people
• Experience with Oracle E business suite
