ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa - we are a global BPO company, servicing the US Healthcare sector and we are looking for MDS Agents / File Assessors, to work remotely from South Africa.
As an MDS Agent / File Assessor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring federally mandated assessments are completed accurately and in compliance with legal standards for all nursing home residents. These assessments are essential for driving individualized care plans, determining reimbursements, and supporting the quality ratings of facilities; therefore it is important that they are accurately completed.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Working Hours: This role requires you to work US hours which are as follows: Training schedule Mon to Fri 5am – 2pm EST (11am - 8pm South African Time) and then normal schedule Mon to Fri 1am - 10am EST (7am - 4pm South African Time) - subject to change with daylight savings.
- Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only.
- Internet (fibre): Candidates must possess a fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps for both upload and download, capable of supporting a wired Ethernet connection
- Power backup: Candidates must have a power backup solution to manage loadshedding or power outages.
Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly review and analyze nursing home residents’ clinical records.
- Accurately answer assessment questions for each resident, following specific guidelines and protocols.
- Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to ensure the assessments reflect an accurate picture of the resident’s care needs.
- Utilize software systems to remotely access, review, and document clinical records securely.
Requirements
- Clinical background preferred, such as a licensed nurse or similar, to facilitate the understanding and evaluation of clinical records will be an added benefit.
- Experience as a File Assessor or a similar role involving document review and data entry is a plus.
- Familiarity with completing federally mandated assessments (e.g., MDS assessments) is a plus but not required; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Technologically savvy and comfortable learning new software systems for remote access and record management.
