Role Overview:
The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading the company’s sales operations at a national level, ensuring revenue growth, strategic market penetration, and maintaining a competitive edge in the car rental industry. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, managing regional sales teams, fostering key client relationships, and overseeing the achievement of sales targets across all branches in the country.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy Development & Execution
- Develop and execute national sales plans aligned with business objectives.
- Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with senior management to define pricing strategies and sales promotions.
2. Revenue Growth
- Drive revenue growth through targeted initiatives, focusing on increasing market share across corporate and retail customers.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs, taking action to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in emerging markets and geographical areas.
3. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, manage, and motivate regional sales teams, ensuring alignment with national goals.
- Conduct regular training and development programs for sales staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of the car rental industry.
- Set clear objectives for team members, evaluate performance, and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
4. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, travel agencies, and business partners.
- Negotiate large-scale contracts, agreements, and partnerships, ensuring profitability for the company.
- Oversee customer service standards across all regions to ensure consistent and positive customer experiences.
5. Sales Operations Management
- Oversee the management of sales pipelines, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Coordinate with the marketing department on national campaigns and ensure consistent messaging across sales channels.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sales strategies, adjusting approaches as necessary to meet market demands.
6. Budgeting & Reporting
- Develop and manage the national sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and customer feedback to the senior leadership team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of sales experience, preferably within the car rental, automotive, or travel industry, with at least 3 years in a senior sales management role.
