Purpose of the Job:
- Supervising staff and ensuring excellent customer service in front of house
- Managing gym floor activities and ensuring equipment is safe and functional
- Enforcing health, safety, and cleanliness standards
- Handling member concerns and resolving issues
- Coordinating schedules, maintenance, and facility logistics
Key Performance Areas include:
1. Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Ensure equipment is functioning and safe
2. Staff Supervision & Training
- Manage and motivate gym floor staff, cleaners, and trainers
- Conduct staff training and performance evaluations
- Ensure adherence to company policies and standards
3. Customer Service & Member Experience
- Handle member inquiries, feedback, and complaints
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Promote a welcoming and motivating atmosphere
4. Health & Safety Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Ensure proper use of equipment and gym etiquette
- Conduct risk assessments and incident reporting
- Oversee cleanliness and hygiene of the gym
- Schedule and monitor routine maintenance and repairs
5. Inventory & Supplies Management
- Track and manage inventory (cleaning supplies, towels, etc.)
- Place orders and control stock levels efficiently
6. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Track key metrics: attendance, equipment usage, staff performance
- Provide reports to upper management
- Identify areas for operational improvement
Experience and Qualifications
Industry Experience
- 2–5 years Management Back round
- Hands-on experience with gym operations, customer service, and equipment management
Leadership & Team Management
- Proven experience managing or supervising a team, ideally in a gym or hospitality setting
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate staff across shifts
- Experience in handling staffing schedules, performance reviews, and conflict resolution
Customer Service Background
- Strong background in client-facing roles
- Experience dealing with member concerns, resolving complaints, and maintaining a high standard of service
Health & Safety Knowledge
- Understanding of gym safety protocols and first aid procedures
- Experience conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health regulations
Administrative & Operational Skills
- Experience managing inventory, cleaning schedules, and maintenance logs
- Comfortable using gym management software or booking systems
Bonus Qualifications (Preferred but not always required)
- Certification in Fitness, Sports Management, or Business Administration
- First Aid / CPR certified
- Health & Safety or Facility Management training
