JOB PURPOSE:
Execute operational activities within the span of control to maximise productivity of resources.
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Matric
- Minimum 2 year working experience in a similar position within a warehousing environment;
- Previous experience in leading a team;
- Experience in applying a Health and Safety programme according to the specifications stipulated by law (advantageous);
- Experience with Shift work and weekends.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office, particularly MS Outlook and Excel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cost management
- Optimising labour to ensure maximum productivity in accordance with forecasted receiving and despatch requirements, and ensuring vehicles are loaded optimally to maximise utilisation.
Operations Management
- Investigate; follow- up and resolve all exceptions and ensure it is communicated to the responsible functions. Exceptions can include but are not limited to loads, STT vs. POA and IBT's.
- Ensure FIFO is applied across the entire hub floor (in all carousels) as per the KPI target.
- Monitor cross border function (where applicable) and record detailed system failures like, "No Value" and "No SKU" for escalation to relevant functions.
- Ensure that there is effective product handling on the warehouse floor.

- Act on special client requirements as and when required.
Green
- Ensure the efficient loading process of vehicles in respect of vehicle utilisation.
Risk
- Adhere to Health and Safety requirements in accordance with the OHS Act and compliance to relevant regulations.
- Inspect all vehicles and material handling equipment to ensure no safety risk.
- Conduct safety toolbox talks.
- Manage housekeeping in the allocated area and ensure the warehouse is always neat, clean and safe.
- Enforce floor operating disciplines within standard operating practices (SOP's).
General
- Staff - lead & coach your team in applying the appropriate SOPs, making sure that all relevant disciplines and processes are adhered to and understood.
- Encouraging continuous improvement in your area of responsibility.
- Act as Relief Operations Supervisor if and when required

- The position requires a highly disciplined self- starter that can work independently and within a team, under pressure and meet deadlines
