Role Summary
Deliver high-quality, low-stress grooming services in a fully equipped mobile salon. You’ll drive to clients’ homes, consult with pet parents, and groom dogs and cats to salon standards while providing a friendly, professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive to scheduled appointments and arrive on time; confirm services and pricing with clients.
- Perform all grooming services: bath, blow-dry, brush/deshed, haircut/trim, nail trim/grind, ear cleaning, sanitary trim; anal gland expression only where permitted and trained.
- Assess coat/skin/behavior; recommend services and maintenance schedules.
- Practice fear-free/low-stress handling; escalate health or behavioral concerns appropriately.
- Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards; disinfect tools and van between appointments.
- Manage daily route, payments (POS), receipts, and client notes/photos in the booking system.
- Upsell appropriate add-ons (de-shedding, teeth brushing, specialty shampoos) without pressure.
- Perform basic van upkeep: water/propane levels, generator, inventory, blade/sharpening rotation.
- Represent the brand with excellent customer service; solicit reviews and rebookings.
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years professional grooming experience (mobile experience a plus).
- Solid breed standards knowledge and scissoring/clipper skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; confident operating a grooming van.
- Ability to lift and maneuver pets up to 25–30 kg safely; stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working independently, managing time, and communicating with clients.
- Grooming certification preferred but not required.
- Up-to-date tetanus/rabies pre-exposure (as required locally) and willing to complete pet-first-aid training.
Skills & Tools
- Fear-free/positive handling, muzzle and sling use when appropriate.
- Proficiency with clippers, blades, guard combs, shears, dryers, bathing systems, and restraint gear.
- Basic tech skills: smartphone apps for scheduling, navigation, and payments.
Schedule
- Typical window 08:00–18:00, Monday–Saturday, with occasional evenings to meet demand.
- Rotating weekends/holidays as needed; reliable attendance required.
Compliance & Policies
- Follow all animal welfare, road safety, and local licensing/sanitation regulations.
- No sedation; refer medical concerns to a veterinarian.
