Production Manager
Permanent Role – Based in Cape Town, SA
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations in Cape Town. The person will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective production while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Reporting to the South-Africa Managing Director, the Production Manager will lead the Production team, manage resources, and implement best practices to achieve operational excellence. Their main responsibilities will be the following:
- Oversee daily production operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and budgets to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Sales and Finance, to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials as well as effective production planning for optimal inventory management.
- Drive initiatives for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Prepare and present monthly reports on plant performance to Senior Management and Group Management.
- Collaborate with Kersia Group operations in order to align with Kersia Group Industrial strategy.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in managing manufacturing operations (ideally in the chemistry field).
With approx. 5 – 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment the candidate will effectively oversee production processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities are essential for optimizing operations and enhancing productivity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
