AHRI is looking for a research medical officer to provide a comprehensive care and management for participants enrolled in various studies conducted at the clinical trials Unit. The position will be based primarily in our Somkhele site but might require travel to the clinics and or hospitals according to study protocol but might require travel to the clinics and or hospitals according to study protocol. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising clinical staff that support the clinical trial; ensure all assigned activities occur according to the protocol and standard operating procedures; ensure appropriate use and allocation of clinical/material resources; interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders; ensure that all study data is collected according to protocol requirements and align with the AHRI scientific strategy.Overview of Duties:
1. Planning, coordination, implementation of studies or clinical trial conducted under the clinical trials unit
2. Ensure tracking of all study activities, patient recruitment, clinical care and follow-up.
3. Supporting PIs to ensure that the clinical trial is compliant with DOH, GCP and SAHPRA requirements and ensure the smooth running of research
4. Liaising with key stakeholders, including DOH and internal stakeholders
5. Providing strategic support for the planning, administration, and operations of all studies or clinical trials.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Completed medical degree (MBChB)
2. Completed Internship and Community service
3. Registered with the HPCSA
4. Computer Literacy (MS Office – Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
5. Valid Drivers’ Licence
6. Fluency in English
Minimum Experience
1. At least 3 - 5 years related experience
2. Previous Research experience will be an advantage
