Position Overview
We are seeking a fully qualified and SACPCMP-registered Construction Health and Safety Manager (CHSM) to join our professional team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, particularly the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and associated Construction Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate safety documentation and project-specific health and safety plans.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Investigate incidents and compile detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safety-related activities and communications.
Minimum Requirements:
Professional Registration
- Active registration as a Construction Health and Safety Manager (CHSM) with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) is essential.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Thorough understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations.
- Strong report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
