Experience:
· 3 to 5 years’ safety related work experience in construction/ mining environment
· 2 to 3 years’ service/ industrial experience
· 2 years’ experience in customer/supplier interaction

· ISO implementation and auditing (added advantage)
Responsibilities:
· Internal Safety inspections: Conducts weekly safety inspections using specified checklist
· Prepares reports, makes recommendations, and communicates with departmental managers
· Escalates critical findings to safety manager
· Resolves safety related findings within timeframe
· Safety compliance audits: Audits departmental safety files as per schedule to confirm compliance
· Prepares reports and communicates with departmental managers
· Advises relevant managers on rectification of audit findings
· Consolidates and presents the regional safety report encompassing branches and sites to the Regional Commercial/Operations managers/Safety Manager for review and signoff before presenting at National level.
· Coordination of External safety related services Liaises with external suppliers on services needed
· Ensures services are rendered as per agreed schedule (medical waste, pest control, deep cleaning) or as when required (general waste, steel waste, contaminated waste)
· Retrieves relevant certificates and submits to safety administrator for filing.
· Prepares monthly report on external services
· Safety awareness/ training: Identify safety topics and ensure they are discussed by supervisors at “toolbox talk” meetings
· Arranges and attends weekly safety “toolbox talk” meetings
· Coaches managers and supervisors on using safety related documentation.
· Assists safety team with launch and implementation of safety campaign activities
· Conduct QC on machines.
· SHE rep management: Notifies SHE reps for submission of SHE rep inspection reports
· Receives and consolidates identified issues for escalation to manager and submission to SHE committee
· Ensures SHE reps are trained and appointed
· Arranges monthly SHE committee meetings
· Internal incident coordination: Advises respective manager/supervisor on process to be followed once an incident occurred
· Ensures relevant information is recorded
· Ensures relevant information is submitted to safety administrator for processing
