Summary:
Hoërskool Vorentoe (situated next to UJ Kingsway Campus) is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Counsellor / Discipline Manager to join our team. This individual will serve as a learner advocate and work in partnership with students, staff, administration, and parents to foster an inclusive, supportive, and accountable school environment. The ideal candidate will be able to provide a comprehensive counselling program aimed at helping each learner reach their full potential. A strong sense of discipline and the ability to contribute meaningfully to behavioral and disciplinary matters is essential.
Please note: Newly qualified graduates will not be considered for this position. Only candidates with relevant experience (± 3 years) will be shortlisted.

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Registration with SACE
- Police clearance certificate
- SARS registration on an official letterhead

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a comprehensive school counselling program that supports learners’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Serve as the school’s safeguarding officer
- Participate in disciplinary hearings and provide behavioural insight
- Conduct and/or oversee testing of learners for illegal substances
- Consult with educators, parents, and school management to promote learner wellbeing
- Support learner discipline through a restitution-based model
- Provide guidance and intervention strategies for classroom behaviour and learner success
- Support school-wide initiatives, including parent education programs
