ABOUT THE ROLE:
Silvertree is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Front-End engineer to join our dynamic tech team. You will be tasked with leading the development of our React Front-End, and Node.js (Typescript) Back-End apps. We make extensive use of Apollo Server (GraphQL) to glue our services together.
The team is focused on building mobile-first, progressive web apps, which are further wrapped to provide mobile applications for our customers.
This role is for a skilled developer looking to build amazing customer experiences, in a small team that is deeply involved in the success of our brands. You will have far more interaction and impact on company success than you would in an agency or large corporate setup. We have a hybrid working arrangement, with some dedicated days in our Woodstock office, but we also support flexibility.
We strongly encourage responsible use of AI tools to speed parts of the development process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring we keep up-to-date with best practises, and are producing quality work
- Design, implement and maintain architecture of our Front-End applications
- Design, develop and modify web applications based on functional and/or system requirements
- Generate and maintain concise technical documentation.
- Participate in the testing process through unit tests and bug fixes
- Participate in UI/UX and design decisions, with a sense of ownership, along with the product team
- Participate and contribute in sprint planning sessions
- Provide technical support and assistance to our portfolio of companies, on specifically relevant topics
OUR TECH STACK:
- Back-End: Magento 2
- Front-End: Node.js (Typescript) with Apollo GraphQL, and React
- Collaboration: JIRA, Slack, Notion
- Data and analytics: BigQuery, PowerBI
- In-progress replacement of older apps and sites
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a full-stack or Front-end engineer
- Previous experience developing with: Node.js, Javascript, Git, React.js
- Analytical, process driven thinker with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated, results oriented team player
- Well organised, good communication and reporting skills
- Ability to thrive under tight project deadlines, and prioritise pragmatically
ADVANTAGEOUS:
- E-commerce experience (especially Magento)
- GraphQL (Apollo)
- Mobile app development
- UX or design experience
- Familiarity with AI IDEs and tools such as Cursor
