Job Summary
The Senior MarTech Manager will serve as a strategic leader at the intersection of marketing, data, and technology for Absa CIB. This role is accountable for architecting, optimizing, and governing the marketing technology ecosystem (Salesforce, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, AWS, Hadoop) to enable precision engagement, measurable commercial impact, and a unified client experience across the Group.Successful incumbent will have the following requisite experience and skills:
• Technical Mastery: 7+ years in MarTech/AdTech leadership, with deep expertise in Salesforce (Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud), AWS, and Hadoop.
• Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to design future-proof marketing architectures and align them to commercial strategy.
• Data & Analytics: Advanced knowledge of segmentation, attribution, data lakes, and marketing measurement frameworks.
• Financial Acumen: Skilled in ROI modeling, budget stewardship, and building business cases for technology investment.
• Compliance & Governance: Strong grasp of data privacy regulations (GDPR, POPIA, CCPA) and governance frameworks.
• Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional ability to translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes for executives and non-technical stakeholders.
• Innovation Mindset: Demonstrated experience piloting and embedding emerging technologies such as AI and automation into marketing operations.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• MarTech Strategy & Architecture
Define the 3–5 year roadmap for CIB’s MarTech stack, ensuring scalability, compliance, and direct alignment with commercial growth objectives.
• Salesforce & Data Cloud Enablement
Lead the design and execution of personalized lifecycle journeys, advanced segmentation, and CRM-sales alignment within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud.
• Data Integration & Cloud Leadership
Oversee integration of Hadoop and AWS environments to enable advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and real-time customer insights.
• Data Governance & Compliance
Establish and enforce enterprise-grade data standards, ensuring integrity, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, POPIA, CCPA).
• ROI & Vendor Management
Own MarTech budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement negotiations, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable ROMI.
• Cross-Functional Leadership
Act as a unifier across Marketing, Sales, IT, and Data Science teams, embedding a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous optimization.
• Innovation & AI Adoption
Champion the adoption of Generative AI, predictive analytics, and automation to elevate campaign performance and operational agility.
Key Performance Indicators
• Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI) uplift.
• Reduction in Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).
• Campaign conversion and engagement improvements.
• Data quality, compliance, and governance scores.
• Stakeholder satisfaction and adoption rates across Marketing, Sales, and IT.
• Efficiency gains in campaign deployment and workflow automation.
