A dynamic and service-driven tourism company in Franschhoek is seeking a vibrant, friendly, and highly observant Service Controller & Storeman to join our service team. This multifaceted role combines elements of control room operations, fleet coordination, and store management, making it ideal for candidates with a strong background in logistics, hospitality, and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Control Room Operations
- Monitor daily service operations and fleet movement from the control room.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and operational disruptions.
- Conduct regular system checks and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain a calm and composed demeanor during high-stress situations.
- Coordinate with security personnel to ensure timely incident response.
- Use data analysis and reporting to identify areas for operational improvement.
Logistics & Fleet Coordination
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of services by coordinating fleet movements.
- Investigate and report exceptions related to fleet and facilities.
- Identify when business SOPs are not being followed and escalate appropriately.
- Provide on-the-day management of all services and report feedback to management.
Storeman Duties
- Maintain inventory of operational supplies and equipment.
- Ensure all work areas and storage spaces are clean, organized, and presentable.
- Assist with stock control, receiving deliveries, and issuing supplies as needed.
- Monitor usage trends and report discrepancies or shortages.
Requirements
- Must reside in the Franschhoek, Paarl, or Stellenbosch area, or be able to commute reliably.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
- Previous experience in the Tourism/Hospitality sector.
- Experience in logistics, control room operations, or storekeeping will be advantageous.
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Operations Management (National Diploma or equivalent).
- Strong communication, observation, and conflict management skills.
- Passionate about customer service and the tourism industry.
- Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and extended hours.
