PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist with the safe installation, repair and maintenance of instrumentation equipment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 /Std 10 (NQF 4) Essential.
- Serviceman Certificate Essential.
- 2-year experience as an Engineering Assistant is essential.
- Understand basic instrumentation engineering principles is essential.
- Understand fundamentals of instrumentation is essential.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of installing Instrumentation Equipment
- Demonstrate an understanding of and install Instrument impulse lines.
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate.
COMPETENCIES:
- Read, interpret and produce basic engineering drawings.
- Identify, inspect, use, maintain and care for engineering hand tools.
- Select, use and care for engineering power tools
- Understanding of and maintenance of flow equipment.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and maintain pressure equipment.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and maintain temperature equipment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Instrumentation Installations:
- Install:instrument impulse lines
-equipment (Flow, Level, Pressure, Temperature and Analytical)
-equipment associated with Final Control Elements
- Install, test, maintain basic pneumatic systems and maintenance of CCTV cameras.
- Installation, maintenance of alarm systems (Domestic) and maintenance on compressors and fridge plants.
Instrumentation Fault Finding and Repair:
-Overhaul of all instrumentation related equipment.
-Assist artisans with fault finding and repairs on all instrumentation related equipment.
Daily Routine:
-vehicle checklist
-Daily inspections on section
-Cleaning of all PLC panels.
-Signing of all maintenance documents (PM15).
