We’re on a mission to share the flavours, stories, and culture of Asia with South Africa — and we’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic people to join our team.
The Role
We’re looking for a Shop Assistant to help run our store. You’ll be the welcoming face of Market Kokoro — chatting with customers, keeping the store looking beautiful, and helping people discover new snacks, drinks, and pantry treasures.
What You’ll Do
- Greet and assist customers in a warm, friendly way.
- Share product knowledge and recommend items (training provided).
- Process sales on the till and handle cash/card payments.
- Keep the shop clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
- Assist with unpacking deliveries and restocking shelves.
- Support with occasional in-store promotions or tastings.
What We’re Looking For
- Friendly personality and great people skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliability — being on time and dependable is essential.
- Able to work in a small team and follow instructions.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a bonus, but not required.
- An interest in Asian food and culture will make you shine in this role.
