Duties and Responsibilities
This role requires a knowledgeable and customer-focused individual who can accurately identify, source, and supply parts for agricultural machinery. Key duties include parts sales, inventory management, order processing, returns handling, payment collection, and supporting workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service, Communication and Sales:
- Assist customers in person, by phone, WhatsApp, and email to identify and source agricultural equipment parts.
- Provide accurate product information, including specifications, pricing, and availability.
- Upsell and cross-sell complementary products and accessories where appropriate.
- Ensure timely, professional communication with customers throughout the sales process.
- Maintain clean, neat, and hygienic work and counter areas at all times.
2. Inventory Management :
- Maintain an organised, up-to-date inventory of parts and accessories.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure parts availability.
- Conduct regular stock counts and immediately report discrepancies.
- Uphold neatness and organisation in all inventory storage areas.
3. Workshop Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering parts and tracking stock levels.
4. Order Processing:
- Accurately process customer orders, ensuring correct documentation and invoicing.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims in accordance with company policies.
- Collaborate with the workshop and other departments to ensure timely parts delivery.
5. Returns and Payment Collection :
- Adhere strictly to the company’s goods returns policy.
- Process returns correctly and in a timely manner.
- Collect customer and debtor payments, maintaining accurate transaction records and submitting them promptly to the accounts department.
6. Product Knowledge and Training
- Stay informed about new products, parts updates, and advancements in agricultural equipment.
- Attend training sessions and product launches to enhance product expertise.
- Provide technical advice to customers on equipment use and maintenance where necessary.
7. Workshop Coordination
- Coordinate with the workshop team to schedule jobs and deliver the correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Serve as the communication link between the spares counter, customers, and the workshop.
- Assist with coordinating technical staff in the absence of the Workshop Manager or as requested.
8. Sales Targets and Lead Generation
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets.
- Foster strong customer relationships to encourage loyalty and repeat business.
- Follow up proactively on all open sales quotes before expiry.
- Identify and provide sales leads to the Equipment Sales Team, based on customer interactions and workshop activities.
- Maintain a record of customer needs or potential equipment upgrades to assist the sales team in proactive follow-up.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: · At least 2 years’ experience in Sales, Agricultural sales or Automotive Industry
- Education: · A qualification in Agricultural machinery or Mechanical engineering is advantageous
- Industry Knowledge: · Must have proven experience with computer systems and sales management systems
- Other requirements: A valid driver’s license is essential. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral, English and Afrikaans) are required
- Candidate must be physically fit, capable of handling heavy equipment parts, stand for extended periods and able to work in various weather conditions.

Working conditions:
- Full-time position based in Worcester, Western Cape.
- Some weekend and after-hours work may be required to attend events, expo’s, tradeshows and exhibitions.
