Role Purpose:
- To ensure that key commercial objectives of the Vodacom Business Sales team are met with respect to Reporting, Profitability, Performance and overall finance and decision support.
- To provide reporting insights and analysis for sales and commercial teams and manage the month-end processing of accounting adjustments (in SAP) and overall month-end review of business unit performance across various revenue and cost lines.
- To partner with sales and commercial teams to translate business decisions and individual transactions into revenue and costs reported in the financial statements. To ensure the integrity of data across various systems and reconcile any variances.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop insightful reporting for Sales teams to assist them in meeting targets and identifying risks.
- Assist the sales teams in resolving customer disputes by reconciling customer accounts to customer agreements and identifying discrepancies including hardware fund recons.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Sales teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Monitor sales pipeline/WIP against billing and implement controls/process improvement to resolve gaps and inefficiencies identified in the process.
- Provide financial modelling, business decision support and cost/benefit analysis to relevant stakeholders within the sales and commercial departments.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Essential)
- Understanding of key accounting concepts and working level of IFRS (Essential)
- Advanced Data analysis experience (Advantageous)
- SAP and HFM (Highly advantageous)
- CA(SA)/CIMA (Highly advantageous)
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a large multinational corporate.

At least 5 years of experience in:
- Advanced Data analysis to derive meaningful insights with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with constant changing requirements.
- Ability to connect the dots (Linking commercial decision making to financial reports)
- Review and implementation of Internal controls and processes to enhance business processes.
- Understand customer needs and assist sales and commercial teams to resolve customer disputes.
