Standby Driver

Job description

MAIN PURPOSE:

The successful candidate will be responsible for being on standby as a driver and ensure timely delivery/collection of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes and/or additional driving activities.

Key Performance Areas:

• Inspect vehicle tyres, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind
• Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received
• Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and report any discrepancies to the company
• Maintain and monitor vehicle maintenance and driving record requirements, and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processes
• Maintain a safe driving record free of violations and accidents
• Interact with customers in a professional manner
• Collect, load and offload recycling by hand.

Qualifications:

• Valid Code 10 Driver’s License
• Valid PDP
• Matric

Knowledge and Experience:

• 2-5 years experience in Transport
• Familiarity with GPS devices or map apps
• Knowledge of Traffic Regulation with regard to Transport

Salary: R5,400.00 per month
