Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Manager at Barron South Africa will be responsible for managing the efficient flow of inventory delivery from suppliers to the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate stock availability. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to optimize the supply chain process.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
Develop and implement strategies to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
Analyse demand forecasts and historical data to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure timely delivery of inventory from suppliers.
Supplier Management
Identify, evaluate, and build strong relationships with reliable suppliers.
Negotiate competitive terms to reduce cost and manage risk.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
Logistics & Distribution
Oversee the transport and distribution of goods to our warehouse.
Work with logistics partners to streamline routes and reduce freight costs.
Drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes and delivery timelines.
Process Improvement
Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in supply chain operations.
Use data and performance metrics to guide decision-making and process enhancements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales, Merchandising, and Finance teams to align supply activities with business goals.
Assist Finance in securing favourable vendor payment terms.
Cost Reduction
Uncover cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain network.
Implement lean principles and leverage forecasting technology to lower carrying costs and increase visibility.
Offshore Sourcing & Quality Assurance
Identify and assess offshore sourcing opportunities.
Maintain rigorous quality control standards through supplier audits and compliance checks.
Work with QA and Product Development to ensure quality from source to shelf.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a retail or wholesale supply chain environment.
In-depth knowledge of merchandise across CFTA business.
Proven expertise in inventory control, supplier relations, and logistics.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in supply chain systems, including D365 and Microsoft Excel.
