Technical Services Manager
The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the lead in considering, planning, incorporating and monitoring all technical long, medium-and short-term requirements of the Complex. This includes the effective identification of mining areas, accurate estimation of products to be mined, sequencing of events, plans to address market needs and the optimal utilisation of reserve resources. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that coal reserves identified by the Geologist are benchmarked against technical data to ensure the validity of submitted calculations; mining activities within the Complex are monitored and that special attention is given to volumetric requirements and the quality of products mined; and that all activities of the Technical Services Department are controlled.

Key Responsibilities
Taking the lead in the development of the Life of Mine and Business Pan for the Complex.
Ensuring that short- and long-term mining plan for the Complex are put in place and engaging with the Complex management team and production teams to ensure that the plans are executable, address market requirements and ensure the optimal utilisation of reserve resources.
Monitoring execution against the plan and putting in place mitigation plans together with the production teams and Group Subject Matter Experts as necessary.
Ensuring that processes and systems are put in place for the delivery of expectations in the areas of Mine Planning, Geology and Survey for the Complex.
Understanding relevant legislation and risks in areas of responsibility and ensuring Complex compliance with all legislative requirements and that mitigation plans are put in place to manage risks.
Leading by example in building the team and ensuring the capability and development to deliver on expectation.
Minimum Qualifications
A Relevant Tertiary Qualification.
A Management qualification will be advantageous.
A Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency or having passed the equivalent of the DMR part C (Law Exam) will be advantageous.
Minimum Experience
Minimum 8 years in the Mining environment of which 3 years should be in a D-Upper Technical or Mining Production Role.
