2nd Line IT Support Engineer – Onsite in Cape Town
We are a UK-based managed services provider expanding our technical support operations in Cape Town. We’re looking for a skilled and reliable 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join our on-site team and support UK clients across a variety of technologies.
This is a full-time, permanent role that offers exposure to enterprise-grade tools and a close-knit technical team focused on delivering quality resolutions—not just handling volume.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve ticket escalations from 1st Line support
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to:
- Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Intune
- Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking devices
- VPNs, firewalls, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Deliver clear and well-documented resolutions
- Communicate professionally with UK-based clients in English
- Maintain internal documentation and support knowledge bases
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 1st or 2nd Line IT support role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, and SharePoint
- Familiar with Active Directory, Group Policy, VPNs, and Windows OS
- Solid understanding of firewalls, switches, and basic networking
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work UK hours (08:00 to 18:00 SAST)
Advantageous Experience:
- VMware or Hyper-V
- Microsoft Azure fundamentals
- Support for Mac OS
- Relevant certifications (A+, MS-900, AZ-900)
