We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing and managing all warehouse activities, ensuring efficient workflow, implementing operational policies, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This candidate reports directly to the Head of Operations.
Job Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations & Oversight
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, distribution, labelling, waxing, and reworks.
- Use systems like Carton Cloud, Jotform, and Excel to manage and track workflows, stock movement, and documentation.
- Organize and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment and enforce strict safety and security protocols across facilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment through scheduled cleaning and hygiene oversight.
- Monitor and report on warehouse capacity, layout planning, and efficiency—including monthly capacity reports.
2. Receiving & Stock Management
- Coordinate the receiving process, including space planning, verifying receipts, timely put-away, and communication with forklift drivers and receiving teams.
- Oversee stock movements, replenishments, and stock allocations for production or storage.
- Plan, schedule, and execute regular stock takes; perform second counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate barcode corrections.
3. Sales Order & Dispatch Management
- Manage the end-to-end process of sales orders (SOs): receive, review, assign to teams, ensure accurate packing, perform quality checks, and dispatch orders.
- Monitor pick rate and report completion efficiency to the Operations Manager.
- Compile and review documentation for billing purposes related to sales orders, labelling, reworks, and waxing.
- Support transport arrangements and monitor the condition and live tracking of the distribution vehicle.
4. Labelling, Waxing & Reworks
- Schedule and oversee all labelling, waxing, and rework operations.
- Ensure all materials and dry goods are available, instruct teams accordingly, and oversee the execution.
- Create and share sample visuals with the Operations Manager for consistency.
- Compile reports and review documentation for billing related to these operations.
5. Export Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate export processes: assign packing, ensure seal codes and alcohol percentages are correctly recorded, and submit export billing documentation upon dispatch.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and clients and generate all export-related documentation.
- Arrange transport for exports and monitor logistics where required.
6. SAWIS Compliance
- Maintain records of unlabelled wine (e.g., pink cards) as per SAWIS requirements.
- Submit required documentation for wine movement, certification, and labelling (BG 5, BG 9, BG 11).
- Coordinate sensorial renewals and additional testing submissions.
- Communicate with SAWIS inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance.
7. Staff & Administrative Management
- Assign team responsibilities, schedule shifts, and ensure optimal workflow.
- Motivate, train, and discipline warehouse staff to achieve operational goals.
- Manage casual workers as needed, facilitate staff onboarding and training, and handle disciplinary actions.
- Track and issue PPE, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Compile and submit incident reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role in logistics and supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and management practices.
- Familiarity with inventory management and logistics software
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of safety and security protocols in warehouse environments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven team leadership
