Purpose of the role:
The Aircraft Structures Worker is responsible for cutting, fabricating, shaping, and assembling of parts for various aircraft. The incumbent is expected to work independently as well as part of a team in supporting the Department, Project Manager and Engineering environments to ensure that the final product conforms to the required technical standards and to achieve the goals and objectives of the organisation.
Duties:
Consults drawings, work orders, and/or schematics to manufacture specified detailed parts.
Cut, bend, shape, and manufacture sheet metal parts to required dimensions.
Use appropriate machinery to complete assigned jobs.
Sub-Assembly of parts.
Assembly of parts.
On-Aircraft installation.
Complete work assigned according to the Quality processes.
Make use of build manuals and adhere to the health and safety protocols.
Continuously improve manufacturing processes and workflow throughout the manufacturing process.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Maintains clean and orderly workspace.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educated to Grade 12 or National diploma (N3).
Aircraft Structures Trade Certification
A minimum of 5 years Aircraft Structure experience within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience of sub assembly, major assembly and on-aircraft installation is preferred.
Experience in aircraft sheet metal / structures maintenance and manufacturing environment within the aerospace industry.
