The successful incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to;
- Assist with the management of the maintenance functions within the hotel.
- Assist with the managing of staff, suppliers and contractors in the Maintenance Department.
- Ensures that all reported items are repaired within the time frame agreed upon.
- Ensures that the Blue Works programme is pre-planned, budgeted and managed.
- Draws up a preventative maintenance schedule annually and ensure that all plant and machinery is maintained in accordance with schedule.
- Attends to breakdowns of plant, machinery and equipment and general repairs in the shortest possible time.
- Maintains pools within the hotel, manage landscaping service providers/personnel.
- Maintains all lighting equipment.
- Assist with the management of the daily maintenance log and check list.
- Maintenance of operating equipment throughout the hotel.
- Identifies training needs of staff in the department and train were necessary.
- Does staff performance appraisals for the staff in the Maintenance Department and attends to staff development.
- Monitoring the level and quality of services performed by outside contractors in accordance with all lease agreements, service contracts and warranties.
- Maintains clean, orderly and hazard free work areas.
- Ensure that standards are always maintained in the department in relation to service delivery and maintain standards and requirements.
- Ensure that all departmental and staff related paperwork is completed in line with standards and deadlines.
- Performs additional duties as requested by management.
The following are the requirements:
· Grade 12 or equal qualification
· Experience in the same or similar field will be advantageous
· Computer knowledge
· Interpersonal skills
· Effective time management and staff management skills
· Problem solving skills
· Detail oriented and works with high degree of accuracy
· Highly organized and flexible
· Must be self-directed and able to complete work with limited supervision.
· Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines.
· Sober habits and dependable
· Must be able to perform physical tasks
· Must be able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
· Excellent knowledge Occupational Health & Safety laws and implementation & maintenance thereof
· Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport
· Must have a valid South African ID
