Position Summary
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store. This role focuses on assisting in sales performance, delivering excellent customer service, supervising staff, and ensuring that store processes run smoothly in line with the retailers’ standards.
Key Responsibilities 1. Customer Service & Sales
- Support the Store Manager in conducting daily team meetings to communicate sales targets and daily priorities.
- Ensure team members deliver excellent customer service as per the retailers’ standards.
- Assist in monitoring individual and store sales performance throughout the day.
- Encourage cross-selling and upselling to maximise conversion.
- Assist in maintaining the customer database and ensure customer orders are processed within set timeframes.
2. Team Support & Supervision
- Support the Store Manager in leading and motivating the team to achieve sales and service goals.
- Assist in training team members in customer service, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members, including Flexi staff and Learners.
- Help coordinate staff scheduling, lunch breaks, and ensure adherence to uniform and name badge policies.
3. Inventory & Stock Control
- Assist in monitoring stock levels and replenishment needs.
- Help minimise shrinkage and maintain accurate stock records.
- Participate in weekly and monthly stock counts.
- Support in processing deliveries, tagging, hanging, and pricing stock.
- Maintain storeroom organisation to facilitate efficient replenishment.
4. Operations
- Support in following the Daily Planner and Store Audit actions.
- Assist in ensuring visual merchandising complies with the retailers’ standards.
- Help maintain store cleanliness, lighting, and change room readiness.
- Participate in store opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with cash-up, banking procedures, and month-end tasks as required.
- Support in managing controllable expenses such as stationery and utilities.
- Ensure health and safety compliance within the store.

- Previous retail or supervisory experience (national retail chain experience advantageous).

Pay: R13 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
