Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Baker to join our kitchen team immediately. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, premium environment. You will work closely with our Head Pâtissier to produce high-end baked goods and desserts that align with our brand’s luxury presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Baking
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and baked goods according to recipes and brand standards
- Assist in the production of French pastries, breads, and specialty baked items
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation for all products
Preparation & Mise en Place
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients accurately
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times
- Follow daily and weekly production schedules to meet demand
Quality Control
- Conduct visual and taste checks to maintain product quality
- Follow portion control guidelines to minimise waste
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
Stock & Inventory
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and notify management for replenishment
- Rotate stock using the FIFO method (First In, First Out)
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with the Head Pâtissier and fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Assist with special projects, seasonal products, and promotional items
- Support front-of-house when required during high-volume periods
Requirements
- Previous baking or pastry experience in a professional kitchen (patisserie or bakery experience advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Passion for artisanal and high-end baked goods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Working Hours
- Full-time position based on business needs
- Early morning shifts may be required for preparation
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as needed
