Job Title: Bills of Material Specialist

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Transform Engineering EBOM into Production MBOM (adding tooling/consumables/packaging materials)
· Create and maintain vehicle BOM hierarchies within PLM/ERP systems (e.g., SAP PP module)
· Maintain and update master data, including material numbers, substitution relationships and unit of measure
· Execute Engineering Change Notification (ECN) :
· Design Change: Receive ECN notifications; Assess production impact (material transition, inventory clearance), and implement updates
· Process Change: Adjust process material allocation and update line-side feeding schemes accordingly
· Resolve production line BOM-related issues including missing parts, quantity discrepancies and substitution conflicts
· Generate and Issue daily BOM Integrity Reports highlighting missing material codes and pending ECN lists
· Support BOM validation activities during new product trial runs
· Conduct quarterly BOM audits
· Manage BOM release permissions by vehicle model and configurations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Grade 12 with a National Diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related field
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in automotive BOM or process data management
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (functions, charts, pivot tables) for data analysis and reporting
· Proficiency in BOM software and tools, such as ERP systems
COMPETENCIES:
· BOM Structural Expertise: Ability to interpret and manage modular platform architectures
· Change Impact Analysis: Strong understanding of ECN implications on production, including downtime risks and cost impacts
· Problem- solving, Attention to detail and Collaboration
