- Manage the Business Development portfolio for EMEA Mining & Minerals. This includes reporting requirements to the Wood S&D leadership team, leading CRB’s together with Commercial, managing and reviewing of tenders and proposals, on award handing over to operations.

- Ensure that Business Development effectively transfer, hand-over and communicate the tendered project budget and schedule. Any deviations subsequent to the tender to be addressed immediately and escalated to the leadership team.
- Ensure that Business Development is managed professionally in line with Leadership and Compliance requirements
- Manage Business Development resources to deliver professionally within strict reporting guidelines.
- Ensure Business Development reviews are conducted in line with the company reporting cycles.
- Ensure Business Development attendance at relevant reviews and meetings.
- Ensure that Business Development is staffed with resources with the necessary experience and acumen to ensure that Business Development functions effectively and professionally.
- Ensure proposals are done professionally and that quality control and price reviews are done diligently by the proposals team, ensuring peer reviews and senior team formal reviews.
- Ensure Business Development objectives are clearly documented, articulated and managed by all parties involved. Change-management is a number one priority.
- Ensure effective and professional engagement with Clients, Sub-contractors and Suppliers on all levels, from personal behaviours in interface meetings to one-on-one interaction, written communication and any other form of engagement. Maintain sound relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective auditing, monitoring and applying of corrective actions on estimates and in general estimating procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective administration in the portfolio.
- Implement strategies as developed by the leadership team.
- Investigate new technology and modern media to enhance effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Appropriate degree or similar.
Desirable:
- Engineering degree or similar
- Marketing certificate or similar
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Extensive experience within business development within a similar industry, with proven marketing and commercial and contractual management background
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of English language.
- Extraverted.
- Good listener.

- The ability to interact with Clients and third parties in a professional and knowledgeable way. Interpersonal skills are essential.
- Entrepreneurial skills with very good local market intelligence.
- Strong relationships with existing mining industry leaders and Client supply chain.
