The Cluster General Manager will oversee and lead Newmark’s portfolio of properties in Mauritius. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, maximizing profitability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences across all properties while ensuring consistent application of Newmark standards, policies, and brand values.
The Cluster GM will manage and support multiple property leadership teams, aligning them with group strategy, and fostering collaboration, operational excellence, and a guest-centric culture.

Duties and Responsibilities
Commercial & Financial Management
- Oversee financial performance of all properties in the Mauritius cluster, ensuring strong revenue, cost control, and cash flow management.
- Collaborate with property GMs, Finance Managers, and HODs to ensure disciplined reporting and accurate forecasting.
- Monitor consumption and stock controls across properties to ensure efficiency and minimise waste.
- Work closely with Newmark’s Revenue, Sales, and Marketing teams to maximise RevPAR and market share.
- Ensure cluster-wide compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously review cost structures to drive profitability without compromising guest experience.
Brand & Guest Experience
- Act as brand ambassador across all Mauritius properties, ensuring Newmark’s brand values are consistently upheld.
- Drive service excellence and a culture of hospitality through visible leadership and engagement with teams and guests.
- Oversee and align property-specific guest experience initiatives to create consistent, memorable stays.
- Champion innovation and adapt strategies to evolving guest needs and market dynamics.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, Newmark leadership, and external partners in Mauritius.
- Provide accurate and timely commercial and operational reporting to Newmark Group.
- Balance stakeholder interests while ensuring sustainable growth and brand integrity across the cluster.
Operations Oversight
- Provide guidance and operational support to property GMs and their leadership teams.
- Ensure consistent implementation of SOPs, quality audits, and guest service standards.
- Oversee maintenance planning and execution to ensure properties remain aesthetically and functionally aligned with Newmark standards.
- Monitor guest feedback across properties and implement cluster-wide improvements.
Talent Management & Culture Building
- Support property GMs in recruiting, onboarding, and developing talent that aligns with Newmark’s brand values.
- Drive leadership development and succession planning across the Mauritius cluster.
- Foster a culture of learning, feedback, and accountability across all properties.
- Partner with HR and property GMs to ensure optimal staffing levels, retention, and employee engagement.
Health, Safety & Sustainability
- Ensure all properties adhere to health and safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible operating environment.
- Oversee cluster-wide waste management and sustainability initiatives.
