Job Title: Community Liaison Officer

Department: Community Relations / Corporate Social Responsibility
Reports To: Community Relations Manager / Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To serve as the primary link between the company/project and the local community in Vrede, ensuring effective communication, fostering positive relationships, and addressing community concerns related to company operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact between the company and the Vrede community.
- Facilitate community engagement activities, including meetings, forums, and consultations.
- Communicate company plans, progress, and impacts to community members clearly and timely.
- Identify and address community concerns and grievances in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with local leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to build trust and cooperation.
- Monitor social impacts of company operations and report feedback to management.
- Assist in the development and implementation of community development projects.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on community engagement activities and issues.
- Support compliance with social and environmental regulations relating to community relations.
- Promote corporate social responsibility initiatives benefiting the Vrede community.
- Ensure all community liaison activities align with company policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Matric or equivalent qualification (Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Public Relations, Community Development, or related field preferred).
- Proven experience in community liaison, public relations, or stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Understanding of local cultural, social, and economic dynamics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English and local languages spoken in Vrede.
- Computer literacy (MS Office suite).
