: Experienced Business Advisor / SMME Development Coach/Specialist

This is a full-time, 12-month contract role supporting our national Business Incubator programmes. This role requires a blend of remote and in-person engagement, providing mentorship and business development support to SMMEs across various industries and locations.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver one-on-one and group mentorship sessions and implement structured interventions for SMMEs (virtually and face-to-face).
· Provide strategic advice across key business functions, including operations, marketing, compliance, finance, HR, and access to markets.
· Develop tailored business strategies, operational plans, and funding proposals for start-ups and established SMMEs.
· Conduct needs assessments and design appropriate business development interventions.
· Support programme reporting, stakeholder engagement, and partnership building.
· Facilitate formal and ad-hoc training sessions aligned with the growth priorities of supported SMMEs
Minimum Requirements
· Honours degree in Business Management or a related field (compulsory).
· At least 10 to 15 years of demonstrated experience in business development, business advisory, mentorship, and coaching.
· Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) programmes under the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.
· Proven experience in working with township and rural SMMEs is preferred.
· Certification in business or executive coaching from an accredited professional body will be advantageous.
· Demonstrated ability to work with SMMEs at various stages (start-up to mature) and across sectors.
· Proficient in developing business documentation (strategic plans, funding proposals, growth roadmaps, etc.).
Key Competencies
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· High proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), and virtual platforms like Zoom and MS Teams.
· Strong administrative, organisational, and presentation skills.
· Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
· Must be willing to travel for in-person site visits and coaching engagements.
· Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle (mandatory).
· A genuine passion for entrepreneurship and enterprise development
Remuneration
A market-related salary will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
