Purpose:
To manage the processing of plastics in an efficient and cost effective manner by co-ordinating the required resources and to manage the loading of processed stock.
Key duties:
- Effective management of the extrusion processing department
- Plan, implement, measure and control production targets.
- Ensure breakdowns and maintenance requirements are communicated
- Effectively manage a staff compliment of 30 employees
- Co-ordinate with the stores department to ensure that the minimum quantities of spares and end consumables are in stock.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting on tne overall performance of the department.
- Maintain a work environment that complies with the safety, health, environment and quality requirements.
- Ensure that production quality meets the desired standards.
Minimum requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12
- At least 5 years experience managing a medium or large production plant, including managing a team.
- Valid drivers license
Competencies
- Ability to be proactive and allocate resources to attain production targets.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team of employees.
- Basic IR and conflict resolution experience
