Job purpose :
The Milk run Fleet Supervisor will be responsible for the operational supervision of the Western Cape Main DC1 facility. This will include, but not be limited to, the successful execution of Milk run Operations DC1 and DC3.
This position reports to the Operations Manager
Your responsibilities will include:

Responsible for the supervision of the facility and all other secondary roles which flow from this function.

Ensures the on-time delivery of product to/from the distribution center to all HUBS.
- Ensure that fleet is adequate for operations
- Ensure escalation of maintenance requirements of fleet to the fleet controller
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures
- Must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of the work area and maintain all company standards.
- Maintain daily meetings with drivers and assistants. Meetings are focused on KPI management and other operational feedback for MR and drop shipment deliveries
- Works closely with management to identify and resolve all issues and ensure quality service to our customers
- Ensure the fleet is adequately rotated to preserve vehicle kilometer lifespan
- It is required of you to work until your daily responsibilities are completed, which might result in you working longer than normally
- The scheduling and rotation of all delivery teams across the two shifts
- Ensure that fleet costs are clearly recorded and reported to Ops Manager
- Manage daily staff and overtime efficiently to ensure labour cost is controlled
- Extracts data and generates reports which will assist in performance tracking and decision making .
- All administrative documentation is labelled and filed as per procedures.
- All daily, weekly and monthly reports/ meeting minutes are up to date
- KPI reports sent out timeously on a daily basis and are posted on notice boards
- Trains and supervise employees to carry out the functions under their control.
- Ensure that all staff are at work and attendance is 100%. All absent staff to have suitable corrective action to be taken consistently
- Measure and manage staff through formal staff appraisals, development, coaching and disciplinary procedures
- Effective leadership and direction for the team through involvement and communication to deliver on the relevant key business drivers
- Ensure 5S housekeeping standards are implemented and maintained
- Implement and maintain health and safety standards
- Ensure the team complies to COVID19 protocols
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification preferred
- 2 years’ Management experience
- 1-3 years employment in a full Dispatch operations environment or wearhouse
