We are recruiting for an Integration Architect role, on a 24-months contract. The incumbent will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient integration solutions across the organisation’s IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and govern the integration architecture for the organisation, covering APIs, messaging, data services, and middleware platforms.
- Develop and maintain integration patterns, principles, and standards to guide system connectivity and interoperability.
- Lead the implementation of enterprise integration platforms and tools (e.g., ESB, API Gateway, ETL tools).
- Collaborate with system, data, and application architects to ensure aligned architecture and avoid duplication or data silos.
- Oversee the integration of legacy platforms (e.g., claims management, financial systems) with modern ERP, CRM, and web services.
- Define and implement secure, scalable API strategies to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms for integration, automation, and process optimisation.
- Support the development of service-oriented architectures (SOA), microservices, or event-driven frameworks as appropriate.
- Ensure integration solutions are aligned with data protection laws (e.g., POPIA), information security policies, and compliance mandates.
- Produce architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and operational documentation for all integrations.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Enterprise or Integration Architecture (e.g., TOGAF, MuleSoft, Azure Architect, AWS Integration Specialty).
- 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 6 years in systems integration architecture or enterprise architecture.
- Experience in large-scale, high-impact public sector or state-owned enterprise projects preferred.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, WSO2, TIBCO, Azure Integration Services, IBM WebSphere, Oracle Fusion Middleware).
- Deep understanding of integration protocols and standards (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, OAuth, SAML, message queues, etc.)
