Internal Job Title: Manager: Inventory Parts.
Introduction
Komatsu has a leadership opportunity available for a Parts Inventory Manager at our Parts Distribution Center in Germiston. The successful candidate will have a B. Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics Management with specific emphasis on Inventory Management and at least 6 years’ experience in stock and parts inventory management.
Qualification:
- B. Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics Management with specific emphasis on Inventory Management (NQF 7)
Years of experience:
- 6 or more years’ experience stock and parts inventory management.
- Experience of Komatsu Stock and Parts Inventory (any area of the supply chain) added advantage
Specific knowledge requirements:
- MS Excel (Advanced), MS Word (Intermediate)
- SAP-ordering
Description of the role:
- Provide input into strategy of the department /function / discipline / strategic project.
- Plan resource allocation and priorities.
- Implement functional / discipline strategy into operational plans & goals.
- Implement approved structures (people, process, technology)
- Collaborate with other organisational units to achieve objectives and results.
- Manage mechanisms for business results measurement, aligned with plans & objectives.
- Participate in planning the human resource allocation, acquisition, retention and motivation within agreed People Plan priorities.
- Lead and Manages the Team.
- Communicate overall strategic direction, plans and objectives and provides channels for communication.
- Manage disciplinary actions.
- Evaluate team members' achievement of objectives and agreed priorities.
- Interpret and report on statistics / feedback on development progress vs. approved learning and development plan.
- Participate in the planning session of the departmental / section budget.
- Check and control income / expenses against approved operating budget.
- Prepare and submit deviations from department's budget plans.
- Liaise with key stakeholders/service providers and suppliers.
- Manage ethical supplier relationships.
- Resolve contractual compliance issues/problems.
- Report on business metrics and data regarding outsourced services/contracts when required.
- Implement regular and structured communication mechanisms & feedback meetings.
- Liaise with Operational Units with regards to inventory stock needs for large equipment
- Monitor parts inventory.
- Report abnormal demands or deviations.
- Report on stock ordering metrics – orders placed, value, dates, etc
