Position overview:
The Investigator falls under the Investigations and Intelligence function of Platform1. The Investigator will assist the I&I team in providing LPR network coverage through the monitoring and dispatching of alerts on Vehicles of Interest, sourcing data to support investigations, and updating client and national databases. This is a shift-based role, and responsibilities will need to adapt to the requirements of each specific shift.
Key responsibilities:Database support:
Uploading vehicle registration plates to client databases as well as national databases
Validation and verification of data for accuracy and integrity
Alerts and dispatching:
Monitor all groups to ensure timeous and ongoing reception of information
Validation and verification of information
Dispatching of alerts to appropriate user groups
Response coordination:
Data verification
User group verification
Limited stakeholder engagements for predetermined alert levels according to associated SOPs and protocols
Effective escalation of alerts to I&I team
Investigations:
Support reactive and proactive investigations
Review footage
Search for reads
Contribute to movement tracking analysis
Clear KPIs and performance metrics will be assigned to each area of responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Minimum tertiary-level qualification
Minimum 2 years working experience with a demonstrable track record of accurate and detail-driven work, effective communication, and integrity
Willingness to submit to strict background checks and ongoing monitoring of data privacy compliance
Reliable transportation
Willingness to work shifts in a 24/7 operation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail that ensures data is managed correctly and accurately
Digital literacy on a range of data platforms
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Interest in crime prevention and policing as well as a passion for community safety
Ability to multi-task quickly and work in a fast-paced environment where decisions have real-life consequences in the policing of communities in South Africa and beyond
