The ideal candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as a knowledge and expertise in human resources practices, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
1-3 years relevant experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Especially Word, Outlook and Excel
Assertive and professional
Able to understand and draft official documents
Able to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
Proven experience working according to deadlines
Able to quickly learn and adopt the use of software applications
Employment Equity training would be highly advantageous
Own transport
Responsibilities - under the guidance and supervision from the Back of House Operations Manager:
HR Administration and Operations Support:
Maintain up-to-date, organized, confidential employee records/personnel files, including contracts, personal information, and benefits data.
Draft, ensure signature and file/scan, all HR related documents
Leave administration
Payroll administration and preparation
Ensure compliance with labour laws, internal HR policies and payroll legislation
Assist in HR reporting, policy updates, and participation in process improvement initiatives.
Timesheets, Time, and Attendance:
Manage and verify employee timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
Oversee the company’s time and attendance system, ensuring accurate tracking of hours, shifts, absences, and overtime.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in time records and attendance logs.
Train employees and managers on the proper use of timekeeping systems.
Employee Relations
Promote positive employee relations and wellbeing by providing guidance and support to employees and managers on all HR-related matters.
Act as first line support for HR queries including but not limited to : Employee grievances (report and follow through), assisting with disciplinary process and conflict resolution in a fair and objective manner.
Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and employment laws to ensure compliance and fairness.
Support Recruitment, Selection and Performance management
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes by coordinating and participate in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring a fair, consistent, and efficient hiring process.
Conduct interviews, assess candidates' qualifications, and make recommendations to management on suitable candidates.
