The Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing the accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, benefits, deductions, and tax submissions. This role ensures compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies while providing essential support to both HR and Finance departments. The Payroll Administrator plays a key role in maintaining employee trust and satisfaction by ensuring all payroll-related matters are handled efficiently and confidentially.

Responsibilities
- Process and manage end-to-end payroll for all employees accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL, BCEA, etc.)
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and leave
- Prepare and submit monthly, bi-annual, and annual statutory reports (EMP201, EMP501, IRP5)
- Reconcile payroll reports with financial systems and resolve any discrepancies
- Handle employee payroll queries and provide timely support
- Administer new hires, terminations, and payroll changes (e.g., promotions, bonuses, deductions)
- Manage third-party payments (e.g., pension funds, medical aid, garnishees)
- Generate and distribute payslips and payroll-related reports
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data consistency and accuracy
- Stay updated on changes to payroll legislation and advise management where necessary
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company payroll information
- Any Other HR and Payroll related tasks
Qualifications
- Proof of certificate in the relevant field (Beneficial)
- Knowledge of SAGE Pastel Payroll (Beneficial)
- Grade 12 certificate
- Own and reliable transport
- Bilingual reading and writing - English and Afrikaans, any additional will be beneficial
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Confidentiality and professional integrity
- Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
