Job Purpose:
To perform chemical testing on Finished Product and Water Samples
Key Job Outputs:
- Ensures that the samples received agree to the Production Program and label copy
- Ensures the correct procedures are followed.
- All results are correctly calculated to determine acceptability
- Ensures samples are taken at the correct process steps and released timeously
- Ensures that the monthly water points are sampled and tested timeously
- Tests finished products using current pharmacopoeias/SOP associated with ‘wet’ chemistry and instrumental techniques (HPLC, IR, UV, AA, FTIR, Flame photometer etc), as appropriate
- Initiates an out of specification investigation form and reports failing results to the Supervisor. Manager during failures
- Ensures that equipment is calibrated and validated before use by checking the calibration.
- Ensure that samples after analysis are defaced and discarded in the waste area
- Determines whether results are acceptable and liaises with Supervisor / Manager to determine if resampling / retesting is required.
- Performs duties deemed necessary by Superior
- Assists in the investigation of out of specification results
- Ensures compliance to limits on the Analytical reports
- Tests customer complaint’s as and when required
Required Learning:
- BSc Degree or National Diploma in Chemistry
- 2 -3 years Lab experience in Pharmaceutical Industry
- HPLC experience in Pharmaceuticals Quality Control Laboratory will be an advantage
