WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the operational activity of a team of electricians to perform planned maintenance, general maintenance, conduct fault finding and do repairs and upgrades to plant and equipment. Ensures all electrical work performed, conforms to the Electrical Machinery Regulations and applicable SANS codes, and issue COC for any electrical installation.
- To keep in good repair all electrical services throughout the plant to ensure vital services are maintained by planning and managing all preventative, reactive and statutory tasks.
- To supervise the analysis, diagnosis and repairing of faults in highly complex and critical engineering installations and Electrical systems.
- To supervise pre-planned and essential unplanned (reactive) repair work and general maintenance activities primarily at the request of the customer (Manufacturing Facilities). These actions need analysis of varying options and effective solutions.
- To be knowledgeable in SAP plant Maintenance for the purpose of generating work requests, scheduling the PM03, PM02 and PM01 maintenance tasks.
- The need of highly developed diagnostic skills is often paramount to be able to resolve faults on some of the specialized equipment that does not have the modern fault-finding computerized processes build into it.
- To liaise with suppliers regarding plant and/or equipment failures and to order the supply of goods and/or services as necessary to ensure rectification of the fault.
- Issue COCs for any electrical installation
- Inputs to modification committee regarding selection of electrical equipment to be used in a hazardous area.
- To fully understand the working of the electrical systems, utility services, plant and equipment within the plant and to work in compliance with:
- Occupational health and safety
- Explosives
- Electrical Machinery & Installation
- Other legal and regulatory controls and
- Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Trade Test as a qualified.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Mechanical & Electrical maintenance engineering planning role within the manufacturing environment.
- Registered Master Installation Electrician (MIE).
- Worked as qualified MIE in a maintenance environment – Explosives or Petro-chemical.
- Extensive SAP Plant Maintenance.
- Ability to work with minimum.
- Reading and interpretation of Electrical drawings and schematics.
