MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

Competent B Certificate is a pre-requisite and Competent A is advantageous

Medically fit

Valid First Aid Certificate

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Experience in electrical work in a mining environment

At least 3 years in a similar role

Basic understanding of electrical systems, safe procedure, and electrical codes

Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act

Ability to work well in a team

Able to lift heavy equipment and parts

Familiarity with hand and power tolls

Understanding of electrical safety rules and regulations

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform basic electrical tests and measurements to ensure proper function of equipment and systems

Ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order and assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting

Help Electrician inspect electrical systems and components, identify issues, and assist with repairs

Perform tasks as directed by Electrician, include carrying materials, cleaning work area, and maintaining a safe area

Provide support to Electrician by assisting with electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs

Cable terminations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
