George Lodge is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Operations Support Assistant to join our team. This all-rounder role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a structured hospitality environment, and is eager to grow through hands-on experience. You will support the Duty Manager and General Manager in daily operations, ensuring smooth and friendly service across all guest touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Breakfast Support
- Welcome and assist guests at breakfast, take orders, and ensure quality service.
- Provide friendly front-of-house support when needed.
- Step in to help with basic guest queries and assist during peak periods.
Operational Assistance
- Support managers in various operational tasks throughout the day.
- Help with errands such as collecting stock or supplies in town.
- Assist during conferences and group check-ins.
- Assist with filing and stock counting
Team Support
- Work closely with housekeeping and kitchen teams to support smooth daily operations.
- Provide backup assistance for reception when trained to do so.
- Assist with setup, takedown, and transitions during guest events.
Health, Safety & Cleanliness
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized environment throughout the property.
- Follow health and hygiene protocols during breakfast service and daily duties.
Requirements
- Valid South African driver’s license (essential).
- Able to work every second weekend and on flexible schedules.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience (advantageous).
- Team player with a willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
