Job Advert Summary

An opportunity has become available for a Painter who will be responsible for preparing surfaces by sanding/ cleaning and applying undercoat/final coats with a brush and/or roller. The individual will apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of buildings and other structures, among other functions.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12/ Matric
• Three-year completed apprenticeship will be an added advantage
• Must be familiar with painting tools and equipment –
  
  

spray guns, sanders and masking

• Basic knowledge of automotive repair processes and paint systems
• Previous experience in automotive painting is essential
  
  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by sanding/ cleaning and applying undercoat/final coats
  
  

with a brush and/or roller

• Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and
  
  

protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of buildings

and other structures

• Fill nail holes, cracks and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other filler
• Select premixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil and thinning
• Dry substances to prepare paint that matches specified colours
• Ensure all records are properly filed and easily accessible
• Ensure and maintain ongoing exceptional relationships with the customers
